Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) address societal challenges through actions that protect, restore or sustainably manage ecosystems while supporting people and biodiversity.
Communities do not all have equal resources for expensive infrastructure or technology. Thoughtful nature-based approaches can provide practical, locally relevant ways to improve urban resilience.
Our work emphasizes expanding green cover, creating ecological connections, planting suitable native trees and involving communities in the care of shared spaces. In Dera Ghazi Khan, this approach supports our wider interest in sustainable cities and SDG 11.

Solutions should respond to climate, available resources, community needs and the realities of the place.
Suitable native trees can support resilience, shade and habitat while fitting local ecological conditions.
Planting is only the beginning. Participation and ongoing care help green interventions survive and create value.
